A look back at the major events in which we took part in 2023

For many years now, Belledonne Communications has been taking part in European events promoting open-source projects, whether as an exhibitor or as a speaker. In 2023, we also participated in trade fairs focusing on collaborative solutions for end-users. They were opportunities to share ideas, meet with pen source and technology enthusiasts, and present our latest SIP-based software solutions.

Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Meeting (FOSDEM) – Open-source sharing

FOSDEM is one of the largest gatherings of open-source developers and enthusiasts in Europe, with thousands of people making the trip to the meeting in Brussels, Belgium, every year. This year’s event was an opportunity to attend talks given by experts and enthusiasts in the area of communications. Thanks in part to the talks we led, our team was able to interact with a dedicated community and share our common passion for open-source projects.

Digital Workplace 2023 (DW23) – Collaborative tools

The Digital Workplace, a French event in Paris, was an opportunity for us to present our advanced communications solutions tailored to professional environments. We were able to give a practical demonstration of Linphone used in a company’s information system. 

OW2con’ – Open-source community

The OW2con’ conference took place in France, France and focuses on topics related to open source and free software in general. It provided us with an opportunity to explain the various income models that helped our company develop over the years, as an open-source software editor (watch the replay). This event sparked a number of discussions that fostered the emergence of new relationships. OW2 also features talks on standards and technologies, community-building and governance, cloud security, and financing methods.  

We are now a member of OW2. This membership testifies to our ongoing commitment to the principles of open-source software development and shows that we are dedicated to supporting the growth of this community.

OSXP – Open-source IT solutions

Open Source Experience is a flagship event for the open-source community in France, providing a major forum for sharing and collaboration. We had the pleasure of exhibiting and speaking at this show, where our team was able to shed light on a variety of topics, such as: 

  • Telephony in the workplace: how to support the transition to software-only solutions, with the Linphone and Flexisip open-source VoIP solutions
  • Advanced communications security: how and why to secure Internet communications today against attacks from future quantum computers
  • Methods of financing in our ecosystem: how can we make it easier for open-source publishers to be sustainable?

In conclusion

These trade fairs and summits were key events for our company, allowing us to share our know-how, forge partnerships, and remain at the forefront of innovation in the area of real-time communications.

We look forward to innovating, sharing our knowledge, and developing ever more efficient open source solutions to meet the changing needs of our users and the industry as a whole.
