The name ‘Belledonne′ originated from the name of a mountain range in the northern French Alps, near the city of Grenoble. Grenoble is sometimes referred to as the ‘French Silicon Valley′ due to the presence of many highly qualified engineers and a wide range of companies of different sizes working in the domains of electronics, nano-technologies and software services.
Belledonne Communications was founded in 2010 by Simon Morlat, the original author of Linphone, and Jehan Monnier, who worked for nine and ten years, respectively, in the telecom division of Hewlett Packard.
Since it was launched in 2001 as the very first open source application using SIP on Linux, Linphone has become very popular, especially within the open source community.
Our engineering team is continuously working on the Linphone project to support the latest versions of most popular platforms and to provide advanced Voice/Video and Instant Messaging features.
With more than 200 corporate customers worldwide, Linphone and its components are drivers of innovation in many sectors, including telecommunications, secure communications, social networking, home automation, telepresence, the IoT etc.

Go4Yu is a Serbian company that is partly owned by Telekom Serbia, the leading telecommunications operator in the Balkans, with offices in the USA, Canada and Austria. This company offers a Talk&Text app named Go4Yu Calling, together with fixed telephony services.
Beam Propulsion Lab Inc. offers a real-time communication application, called Beam Messenger, for instant typing and transmission of text.

Nettia OY is a Finnish company that has integrated Linphone into its VoIP application, Telz, in order to provide high quality and cheap international and local calls.
Primo Connect Inc. is a global communications platform that focuses on delivering International Long Distance calling video and messaging, with a focus on not only app-to-app calling but on app-to-PSTN enablement as well.

Based in the US, TextMe Inc. aims to offer rich mobile communication (text, calls and mobile data) for free to anyone in the world. In 2012, the TextMe app became the first application to offer SMS, rich messaging and voice and video calling, on both iOS and Android. The VoIP audio/video calling feature of the TextMe app is powered by the Liblinphone engine.
