The FOSDEM (Free and Open Source Developers' European Meeting) is one of our annual events. This forum is aimed at developers and enthusiasts of free and open-source software. This year, we had the privilege of presenting a conference in the Real-Time Communication (RTC) room, focusing on optimizing video calls through Forward Error Correction (FEC).
Video transmission presents various challenges in terms of stability. Since the video stream is transmitted and displayed in real-time, there is minimal room for retransmitting lost or corrupted data.
In our conference, we explained how FEC helps address issues related to packet loss. Our approach aims to detect and correct these packets in real-time, thereby providing a smoother and more reliable video experience for users.
